Wat Rong Khun(The White Temple)
Wat Rong Khun, commonly known to foreigners as the White Temple, a famous Buddhist temple designed by artist Chaloemchai Kositpipat.
Carved with painstaking detail, the pure white, ornate facade and path leading to the entrance are deeply symbolic of desire, greed, suffering and the heavenly. It’s a religious complex unique even in Thailand.
Chiang Saen
Chiang Saen is a district in the northern part of Chiang Rai Province, northern Thailand. Chiang Saen was a hidden ancient city named Yonok Nak Phan, existed over 2000 years ago in the north of Chiang Rai.
The charming Chiang Saen is located among the convergence of Thailand, Burma and Laos and sits next to the beautiful and peaceful Mekhong River. Golden Triangle Chiang Rai
The Golden Triangle is the area where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet at the confluence of the Ruak and Mekong Rivers. This region of Thailand was once known for its infamous opium trade.
Karen Long Neck Village
The Karen tribe, which is unofficially called the Long Neck tribe, came to Thailand from Burma, when escaping war and violence in their country. They are world famous for their women, who wear golden rings around their necks. From the time when they are 5 to their 21st birthday, each year one ring is added to their collection. At the end, their necks get so long that these women are often called “dragon ladies”, or just “long necks”. According to Karen people, the longer the neck the more beautiful the woman who wears them is.
